DigitALL: Inclusion in the Digital Era

Over the last decade, creative industries have undergone major transformations thanks to the democratization of technological tools for the creation, production, dissemination, and consumption of culture. The infinite opportunities of these technologies and of even more sophisticated tools—such as artificial intelligence and biotech—can nevertheless offer risk of gender and racial bias. Audience segmentation, digital competence and training, algorithms and automation; what are the current challenges of this technological revolution in terms of diversity and inclusion?

The speakers will engage in a discussion that examines the traditionally gendered fabric of digital experiences and maps out a more equitable and diverse future digital arts and music landscape.

Featuring Sian Fan, Efe Ce Ele and Samito, moderated by Natalia San Juan.

A MUTEK Montréal and MUTEK Barcelona co-production. Presented in collaboration with Estrella Damm and the support of Gouvernement du Québec, Bureau du Québec à Barcelone, Embassy of Canada in Spain, Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), and Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC), and British Council.
