Autechre kicks off MUTEK Barcelona

As the first artist of the line-up is officially confirmed, the sale of Passports is now activated and available through the Entradas de Vanguardia ticket platform.

The international festival of electronic music and digital creativity, MUTEK, unveils the first name that will be part of the line-up for its 15th anniversary in Barcelona, which will take place from 9 to 13 April 2024. Autechre, who will perform on Tuesday 9 April for the Opening Concert at Sala Apolo, are the first confirmed artists. The duo will headline the line up of an edition that will focus on novelty and eclecticism, in an event co-organized by Primavera Sound, MUTEK ES and Caprichos de Apolo.

Sean Booth and Rob Brown, the names behind Autechre, make up one of the most mythical duos of European and world electronic music. The musical duo formed in 1987 in Rochdale, UK, will land in Barcelona to fill the Sala Apolo with their characteristic sets full of digital and analog synthesizers, samplers and drum machines in their production.

An outstanding performance of this anniversary edition that celebrates a remarkable milestone for MUTEK, Autechre will perform to an audience with a voracious appetite for their wide variety of genres and styles ranging from hip hop and techno to experimental electro, ambient and concrete music.

Joining the event is Roméo Poirier, presenting the Live AV project Tales of Entropy, together with Brussels-based ArtScience production, research and education organisation Ohme. Tales of Entropy is an audiovisual performance based on generative music production, polarized light microscopy and computer vision, supported by Innoviris and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles.
