Nocturne 3

12.03 | 11:59 pm_6:00 am
Live: 3:30 am

ascendant vierge is a new transnational and transmusical duo based in Brussels formed by the lyrical goth-pop singer, songwriter, performer and composer Mathilde Fernandez and DJ and producer Paul Seul, also known for co-founding the Casual Gabberz collective. Before starting this new project, the two artists already collaborated in 2018, when Seul remixed Fernández's single "Oubliette".

In astrology, the "virgin ascendant" or "ascendant vierge" is known for its prudence and more orderly side. It sounds rather ironic, as "Influenceur", the duo's first single, is anything but calm and orderly. In fact, it is, rather, a flamboyant song driven by a thumping, fast-beating punk beat and Fernandez's otherworldly operatic singing.

Following that single and others such as "Faire et Refaire" or "Discoteca", ascendant vierge released their debut mini-album 'Vierge' in October 2020, thus consolidating their collaborative project among the most restless eardrums of the European scene. The duo will perform for the first time at MUTEK to present the project live.
