For the MUTEK Market’s opening session, curator, writer, musician and researcher Lluís Nacenta sets the stage with the latest intersections of technology and art, focusing on how creative industries are leveraging emerging technologies to push the boundaries of digital creativity.
Lluís Nacenta will pull from case studies surrounding AI, XR (virtual reality, augmented reality), multimedia and data-driven art, as well as examples from the exhibition he has curated for the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona, titled 'Artificial Intelligence'. Nacenta will also share insight as to how he incorporates integrity, diversity and care into his multidisciplinary artistic practice.
A MUTEK Montréal and MUTEK Barcelona co-production in collaboration with BAU Research and the Master's in Audiovisual Innovation and Interactive Environments at BAU.
With the support of Gouvernement du Québec, Bureau du Québec à Barcelone, Acción Cultural Española AC/E (PICE Program), Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC) through its internationalization brand Catalan Arts, and Xn Québec.
Note: All activities over the three days of this international gathering will be conducted in English.
