Sebastián VereaAR

His work and research focuses on the intersection between musical composition, sound arts, science and technology. His work has been presented at exhibitions and theatres in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Edinburgh, Mexico, Rome and Turin. He directs the Expanded Music program at the Arts School of the University of San Martín, in Buenos Aires.

He is the composer of over twenty original dance and theatre soundtracks. He has also composed work and frequently performed solo (Yellow Lounge Deutsche Grammophon, Radialsystem, Sónar Festival Buenos Aires, MUTEK) and in collaboration with artists such as soprano Nadia Michael, mandolinist Avi Avital, composer Sven Helbig or the Ensamble Vocal Contemporáneo.

His network includes international collaborations with the Juillard School in New York (lead team coordinator for Cracked Orlando’s avatar), the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM) in Paris (lead organiser of the IRCAM’s Forum in Buenos Aires), the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance (C-EENRG) (research project leading to the sound and visual installation Sounds of the Anthropocene) and several other institutions.
