Born in North London, producer Loraine James grew up with a variety of music from an early age thanks to her family's wide musical repertoire and the multiculturalism of the city, listening to electronic music, UK drill and jazz.
Influenced by different artists and bands such as Squarepusher or Telefon Tel Aviv, she developed a unique sound, subtly combining electronica, math rock and jazz, creating all kinds of combinations, from quirky ambient beats to vocal sample driven techno.
After releasing several EPs and LPs, she signed with Hyperdub in 2019 and, after that 'For You and I' -presented at MUTEK Barcelona 2020 hours before the state of alarm-, she now returns to the festival to present her second LP released by the British label. It is 'Reflection', her fourth album overall. In it, she continues to unravel her own genre of IDM fusion with avant-garde aesthetics and sensibility, also mixing jazz-infused ambient and rhythmic patterns.
