Intercity-Express & Shuhei MatsuyamaJP
Intercity-Express is a sound and visual project by musician Tetsuji Ohno. After establishing his career as a DJ mainly in Tokyo in the mid-1990s, he began producing music in earnest. Alongside his work in advertising music, he launched the A/V series triggering in 2013, which is generated through visual programming. His work is known for its synchronized expression that blends sound rooted in house, techno, noise, and electronica with intuitive generative design and color-driven visual patterns. He has presented live performances and installation works at festivals both in Japan and overseas.
In addition to his solo projects, he has collaborated widely, including co-productions with Canadian visual artist Push1stop and full-dome works with media artist Shinichi Yamamoto. Within Japan, his activities span TV and commercial music production, surround design for large national facilities, sound development for automotive navigation systems, and the creation of interactive content for commercial spaces. Through sound, he seeks to organically connect and expand the sensory experience.
