Flat Erik & Merca BaeES
Today it still sounds daring, but to say that Erik Urano is the best rapper in Spain will become a trend in a not too distant future. At least, that's what we at MUTEK labs blindly believe. He is Flat Erik and, in recent years, he has played a vindictive role in the national experimental scene, offering one of the most advanced rap proposals on the Spanish avant-garde panorama.
The artist from Valladolid will join forces with the producer from Salamanca Merca Bae at the 13th edition of MUTEK Barcelona to present 'Qubits', the result of the mixture of two creative spaces, both blurred of all genres within increasingly dissipated borders. This fusion of cores has resulted in a combination of textures and structures worked with one eye on the dancefloor and the other on that microcosm that both artists feed on, which is the density and identity of their proposals, alien to any passing element or predominant label, to dive into new territories, perhaps not entirely unexplored, but certainly little studied and even less experienced.
As they themselves state, 'Qubits' is not the aim or the intention of looking for a space or a time to belong to, but it is time and space in itself.
"I don't go up and I don't go down, my flight is inward. The more inside, the more outside in my capsule."
Welcome on board.
