Rival Consoles

Rival Consoles

As a thoroughly contemporary label, Erased Tapes continues to write its story with every passing minute, but the story of the record company founded by Robert Raths in 2007 will always begin with Rival Consoles.

Before Nils Frahm, before Ólafur Arnalds, before Kiasmos, the British artist Rival Consoles was the first artist signed by Erased Tapes thanks to his uncompromising commitment to beauty. Everything he touches with his fingertips becomes beautiful, as proven by recent singles such as If Not Now and Gaivotas, which are somewhere between the synthetic reverie of IDM, the doziness of contemporary music and the awakening of noisy improvisation.

Almost two decades after signing to Erased Tapes, Rival Consoles continues to build up a discography that functions as a sonic refuge for those in need of a moment's pause. A safe space that will open its doors on 10th April in Madrid with a performance at Copérnico.
