What steps can we take to foster digital creativity? How can we establish and maintain communities that transcend borders? This session unveils the intricacies of MUTEK's established network of cultural collaboration as a global festival series.
Launched in the 2000, MUTEK has dedicated itself to showcasing live electronic music and real-time audiovisual performances, distinguishing it as a rare platform for such innovations on a global scale. Over the course of 20 years, the festival's forward-looking mission has matured, and while its promises have, in many ways, materialized in the present, its commitment to the ongoing evolutions and variations of contemporary digital creativity persists.
With its focus still on what lies ahead, MUTEK remains dedicated to anticipating and adapting to the future landscape. Representatives from MUTEK Montréal and MUTEK Barcelona reflect on the 2024 milestone anniversaries in Canada (25th), Mexico (20th), and Spain (15th).
A MUTEK Montréal and MUTEK Barcelona co-production. Presented in collaboration with Estrella Damm and the support of Gouvernement du Québec, Bureau du Québec à Barcelone, Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), and Institut Català de les Empreses Culturals (ICEC).
Together with Sarah Mackenzie and Ludovica Michelin.
Note: All activities over the three days of this international gathering will be conducted in English.
