Chica Gang, formed by Rocío and Albal, is a duo that has been burning the Spanish dancefloors since 2017 with electronic beats inspired by the most underground club sounds and styles. They have played in emblematic venues such as Siroco, Nitsa, Razzmatazz or Dabadaba and collaborated with other collectives such as Voodoo Club (Barcelona) or Bossy Ldn (UK). Recently, they curated the programme of one of the nights of the Boiler Room Festival in Barcelona and also participated as DJs for the second time, after their first Boiler Room in 2019, confirming their international projection.
The project was born from the CHICA platform, created by women with the intention of promoting female-LGTBIQ+ art and creating a safe space in Madrid's nightlife. Fed up with the practically null visibility of female artists, the male-run production companies and labels and the clearly male target of the music industry, they needed a space and they created it. Three years and more than 20 editions later, they have the support of national and international artists such as Danny L Harle, Juguete, Bossy LDN, Mad Bad Ting, CHICOBLANCO, Voodoo Club, Ghazal, Denmark, DJ Florentino and Nadine Artois.
The girls from Chica Gang return to the Catalan capital this March 2022 to continue burning the club's dancefloor during MUTEK Barcelona's 13th edition, thus facing a new opportunity to bring their sound to one of the most restless audiences.
